I was shocked at the casting of David Jason as Rincewind. I know he's a wizzard who has been at the university and achieved nothing but it doesn't make him a really old man. His performance grew on me as the film went on but I still didn't find it anything spectacular. If you'd like to see more about what I thought of it check out my review of the book and film. The point and click games were hillarious and ingenious. Discworld 2 was one of my favourite games and Noir was so in depth

I have to say that I loved both cartoons and Hogfather, though I was a little disappointed with the Colour of magic, mainly because I didn't like the casting of David Jason as Rincewind, then again I didn't like how it was all about David Jason in Hogfather either (look at the cover of the DVD, you'll see what I mean). At least he's not going to be in Going Postal. I can't wait to see that adaption. The Point and Click games are still my favourite, Eric Idle was a great choice for Rincewind.

It bloody better not. I'm not trawling through ebay to find a replacement

And as Terry Pratchett himself says, if there is a movie and it helps sell more books that's great but first and foremost I care about the books. The cartoons / LAM are just a nice bonus. I'll be interested to see how the newest film turns out. Not that I'm saying the previous two have done so but Going Postal really wont be relying on special effects to woo its audience, its one of the best character driven stories of Discworld and if the makers can pull it off were all in for a treat
